Our approach
How we work, what we believe in, and what you can expect from us.
Patience compounds.
What grows slowly, lasts
Investing is often presented as a game of speed: the right moment, the right share, the right tip. We do not believe in that, and neither do the people who kept at it for decades.
What works is boring. Setting aside an amount every month. Spreading your investments as well as possible. Staying calm when the market falls. And above all: staying invested long enough for your gains to start producing gains of their own.
That is what we mean by Patience compounds. Not investing faster, but keeping going for longer and earning returns on returns.
(The 8th wonder of the world, according to A. Einstein.)
Our starting point
We start with your knowledge
Many people invest without really knowing what in. They rely on a bank, an adviser or an app and assume it will be fine. That way you choose purely on trust, not on knowledge.
That is why we invest in your financial education. Not so that you have to do everything yourself, but so that you understand what you buy and can ask the right questions, of anyone.
From then on, you no longer have to take anyone at their word.
How we invest ourselves
Why a system and not an opinion
Investing goes wrong the moment emotion takes over. Selling a share that is rising strongly, blindly buying a company everyone is talking about, selling during a general market correction of 10-20%: those are exactly the typical moments when people rarely react wisely.
That is why we assess every company in the same way. Fixed questions, in a fixed order, however enthusiastic we may be. A system is no guarantee of being right, but it does keep us honest with ourselves.
Our framework is built on the work of investors who kept at it for decades. We laid their methods side by side, removed the contradictions, and combined them into one way of working.
During the course you will use our investment framework yourself, so that you can keep using it at home afterwards as a tool.
Our limits
What we do not take part in
- We do not invest with borrowed money or with leverage. No turbos, no options, no short selling.
- We do not invest in penny stocks or in companies hoping to be worth something one day.
- We never invest in a company with fraud or criminal ties behind it, however good the figures may be.
What we do instead: put money behind companies that genuinely make something, contribute something, and will still be around in ten years.
